How should I ask my mom to cover up for my wedding?

My mom tends to dress a little on the riskier side for a woman of her age and size (plus). How do I ask her to go dress shopping with me to find her a more conservative dress when she will either say no, get offended, or question my motives even when done tactfully?

Tell her that you want to go shopping with her so you can help her pick out something that will fit with the wedding party. My mom has recently lost some weight and likes shopping in the juniors section.. unfortunately, I think just because clothes in the juniors section fit you, doesn’t mean you should wear them. I went shopping with her and we picked out something appropriate that she loved. Tell your mom that you want her to look like the mother of the bride. It may not be what she normally wears, but it will make her look more special than she does for other occasions.
