My fiancee still has his old wedding ring?

Recently, my fiancee asked me to do something for him out of a box he put it in his closet. In the box was his old wedding ring. He was not hiding it from me or something. In fact, he pressed it in a vise grip so now it is a piece of shit. I asked him why he didn't just get rid of, and he said he wanted to cash in because it was worth fifty dollars. He also said he didn't want to just get rid of slideshows made of real gold. I left the problem that you alone, but still bothers me. I wonder, should I just forget claim that he or she get rid of it? I already confronted him and he said: I lost my mind if he thinks he holds it for memories. For sure, that I know he hates hates hates his ex-wife, This is not the issue, but it still bothers me that in my house. I am pondering things or I have a right to feel unwell. I am open minded, please give me some advice you get. Thank you.
